Getting me one place to another, he has been with me thru many adventures...

.. especially when I get lost. Which is often.

He has served me well, with little disappointment.

He was strong till his last days, and will now serve another owner.

3 months into bumming life, or rather microbusiness life, I am faced with a decision to make. To put the company on hold. Being self-employed even though may be a great thing to do, and quite promising to say the least, is not the only way. There’s nothing wrong about being employed, just incase I gave the impression that I’m against employment.

5 reasons I am no longer fully self-employed.

1. Little to loose, lots to gain.

3 months into starting somewhat free-lance business, I could already see potential in business growth. With additional jobs coming in, and if I secure a few more clients. I’ll have a pretty comfortable life by the next 3 months. It will be a gradual growth that branches from my current connections. But if I put that on hold, and join a group of connections now, when I restart the business the growth will be exponential.

2. Right fit.

Detailed project follow-ups stresses me out, that’s why going back to account servicing even though I was ok at it, scares me a little. Brainstorming and presentations has always been home to me. I do miss that search for the unconventional and I miss the adrenaline that theatric-presentations brings.

3. Local Business.

I have always expressed that I believe in local businesses. Not that I hate MNCs, but I just feel we shouldn’t be shipping all our hard earned fortune out of the country. Hypocrite I know since 80% of the products I use are international brands. Well, time to act on what I believe right? Local business for-the-win! :P

4. Least risk.

In the conventional sense, the choice with the least risk would be joining a big MNC like Nestlé. (I did btw, almost went for a Nestlé interview, but did not in the end.. long story). The real risk of joining an MNC is that there isn’t much risk! I could easily see where I would be in 10 years if I had joined Nestlé. Which is good, but it’s just good with little hope of great.

5. Life’s too short to be lazy

Free-lancing is a pretty sweet life if you have not tried it. You wake up 930am when everyone is already at work, get some coffee going, reply urgent eMails (if there are any), get some work done. Go for lunch, go for a movie, get a lil more work done, go for coffee, go for dinner, come back for American Idol, go for night drinks, sleep.

I absolutely adore days like these, especially when it still brings in the cash. But too much of it does make me a little lazy. When I hit 23 last year, it was my first time I actually felt I was getting old! I’m 23, time is running out! I quit my one-brand job so that I can work on more brands at a time, but even then, there’s no time for me to be working on 2-3 accounts for the next 3 months. I’m bracing myself for the 15 accounts per month workload in the near future. This will fill-up my portfolio and fast-forward me toward the goal.

Let's do this.

Bummer or Entrepreneur

No matter what people say about that the “being” is more important than the “doing”, what you do in many ways defines who you are. How you invest your time shapes the person you are and the person you are going to be. Which also means, in many ways we cannot detach our work-life from our personal-life. Otherwise we will be suffering from continual schizophrenia, which when suffered long-term result in chronic de-identification.

If you have heard, I recently left my role at Pfizer (Wyeth). Not because it was horrible there. To be honest, progress was looking quite promising (internal company pun). In a short term, I was given the opportunity to excel and present myself upward. The people and atmosphere amongst colleagues were warm. Perks were more than average. But at the end, it boils down to the day-to-day actionables. I guess a chunk of what I was doing was not how I wanted to define myself. Also, I didn’t want to be restricted to the infant milk industry for the long-term.

My last day was on 17th December and I was on a holiday at Sydney since then. The fact that I am unemployed and now a bummer (or an entrepreneur, depends on how you look at it haha) has not really sinked in yet. The fact that everyone else is on leave till the end of the year doesn’t help but make me feel that I’m just on an year-end leave.

So what’s next?

What I have been telling everyone, and what I intend to do is; to re-start my somewhat freelance jobs and eventually grow that to a substantial cashflow, which would leave me more time to try develop and create value in different ways. The goal is not to make tons of money in this short time, the goal is to establish the minimum to maximize my time investment.

Well, I can talk all I want, but if I don’t get my first deal going, it’ll all be just unrealized ideas. What specifically I tend to freelance? I won’t have that publicized till I can secure a first project. Will tell you personally if anyone’s interested. Basically it’s somewhat what advertising agency offers distilled down to only specific services, skewed to social-media, minimal design and strategy. And yes, because I’m free lancing, I’m sure it’s for a fraction of the cost. Know any marketeers trying to save some money? ;)

The plan is to try to start this the next 2-3 months, and if I don’t see any prospects from that first deal, high possibility I’ll venture back to where I came from originally, which is to advertising not in client servicing or creative, but to strategic planning. I guess looking at the big picture, looking at what grows a brand, and to be consumer focused is still what gets me excited. Not so much looking into detail operations and logistic execution. Different personalities perform better when placed in different roles, and I for one get a bit frustrated with too much operation work.

It’s surely not going to be as straight-forward as I think it would be. Circumstances change from time to time. For example, I had a surprising call 2 days ago that opened doors to another opportunity. I didn’t know I had to make a decision so fast. My proper bumming days have not even started! I’ve not indicated any answer to that call yet. I guess I’ll base the decision on; whether or not does the actionables involve in that job fits into how I want to define myself. Does it?

Sudden Tragedy.

It was a peaceful Saturday afternoon. I came back from a friend's wedding in the morning and I booked for a sauna session at 2:30pm before church service. I decided to take a nap, so I set an alarm for 2:15pm, and went to sleep.

I woke up without the alarm and it was exactly 2:30pm. I realized my alarm did not ring because I accidentally set it on AM instead of PM. Rushed for my sauna session booked at 2:30pm, I hastily head out of the house.

Not too long into the drive, I realize wind sound from the door. The car door wasn't closed properly. Traveling at approximately 60km/h, I opened and closed the door tight for safety.

In the process, I thought I heard a strange sound. Few seconds later, I checked my pocket like I normally do, and realized my iPhone was not there. In denial and with hope, I kept telling myself that I left my iPhone back home. I drove to the sauna place and borrowed their phone, dialed my hand phone number just to hear a no service message. Even without being in that infrared sauna, I was sweating. Slightly weak in my knees, I drove back home suspecting the worst.

On the way home, I glanced over to the spot where I remembered I opened and closed the door.

At that very second, with my hands still on the wheel trying to go as slow as I can, trying to keep my car and myself from crashing, I saw my iPhone laying on the road.

Bare.

Being trampled over by cars.

Over.

And.

Over.

I wanted to scream, but I could not. I was lost for words, lost for expression. I found a spot to park my car, rushed over to the main road and braced my baby. Back in the car, I was silent and motionless for a few minutes. I was trying to digest and grasp what has just happened.

In some ways, the fact that my iPhone fell out and I might have just rammed over it with my car, is still sinking in.

It was a good one year with you babe... sorry I have to let you go.

Here are some pictures of the aftermath. It is surprisingly still in one piece. Solidly built is the iPhone. Unfortunately, I don't think any phone could have survive a multiple ramming of cars.

Bumming has been fun! There are a few of us 'flexible-scheduled' people that meet almost EVERYDAY.. it's either lunch, dinner, coffee, or at practice..
Tho it's nice and chilled... it can get a bit stagnant... well, at least for me because I am truly bumming (the rest are free-lancing and holidaying)

The wait during this season has been something I've never experienced before. All these while there is always somewhat a plan ahead. Every holiday you know in a few weeks you will be back in class. And after secondary school you know college is next, then university. There is always something ready to be done once the wait is over. But not this time.

The interview process has been dragged for 3 months!! No one likes the waiting game... the feeling of not having a clue on the next step can be frustrating.

You know the Close-the-doors-You-don't-want-me-to-take-prayer?
It's not the easiest prayer to pray because it's basically inviting rejections and prolonged period of waiting. Well, I didn't exactly pray that prayer consciously... but thank God He made it seem like the decision was quite a clear one.

1. P&G, suppose to be the dream company because they pay pretty damn high.. But I didn't get pass the test that required maths (wahaha!! I might had not suit the company also la if they place such importance on maths) + the Brand Assistant position have been filled before I came back from NZ.

2. L'Oreal. High possibility of getting in.. but delay after delay after delay.. something just did not feel right there.

3. Weyth. I am honestly not too familiar with the nutrition / pharmesutical industry, but great potential.

4. Simplot. Products I felt most connected with: FOOD! haha.. but I think for this season I need something a little more risky with more potential for faster returns.

The wait has ended. I am ready to fall in love, take a brand as my own, and start this journey we call a career.

I shall be starting work on 15th June at Wyeth!
L'Oreal delayed too many times, so I'm not gonna wait for them.

I am really quite excited. Tho I know I would not have much free time from then onwards, at least things are moving. I can now start setting goals!!

I am home.

Mmm.. actually I've been back for exactly a month now!
Arrived on the 22nd Feb, and now it's 22nd March!! Gosh, time flies!!

Settling in has been going good. Tho since the second day I arrived back, I didn't have a room for many days because my grandma came up from Batu Pahat.. So I had to bunk in Sam's room. So settling into the room is going slower than scheduled.. but it's cool.. I only plan to do more jellyfying to the room once I've confirm a job.

So what I've been up to these days??
Mostly chilling.. catching up with people.. and a tiny bit of job hunting...
The second week I was back, went oven hunting with mum and the house finally has an oven!!
Oh yea, did I mention.. I've been cooking a bit too.. so far cooked about 4 meals for the family..
Did my usual Olio pasta with broccoli, Asian pasta twice, Lasagna with the new oven, and a fail attempt of stuffed mushrooms. Will be trying the mushrooms again this week.. and also chocolate lava cake!! woots!

Oh!! I went down to Singapore last week to visit dad, scout for basses, and visit other friends who are down there.. and guess what...
I finally got a bass!!! after aprox 9 years of picking up the bass... I've finally have one in my room!!
It's about time I up my game after years of being stagnant!
It's a beautiful 4-String American Standard Fender Jazz Bass with Maple Fingerboards....

I'm thinking of naming her "Jazlyn Maple September" haha
Such a long name for a bass kan.. got meaning one..

Talking about eating... my weight watch has been horrible since I got back..
not having a gym to go to at home.. and with the great Malaysian food..
It is no mystery why I've gain back a bit of weight..

This week.. I'm on this gym's 1 week trail.. so will make full use of it.. trying to loose back that 1.5KGs, or even more!! Hopefully I can touch 90KG by next Monday!! =P

To Spike Or Not?

It is VERY hard to find accessories that fit my face.
Hats, watches, sunnies.. all I have not worn most of my life.
But recently I've been scouting for sunglasses everywhere I go.. after I found my CK that kinda suits me.. I realize how nice it is to actually wear sunglasses... haha.. now I'm tempted to buy a Spike.. I have always thought that it looks great.. just never contemplated to buy it all that much..

btw, today's weigh in: 91KGs.
Total weight loss: 3KGs.

It has been tough! With CNY BBQs.. eating out.. and having a bit of flu, which stopped me from going to the gym for almost a week... quite happy to still see a drop..
Then again.. I still look fat... mmm... Ppl in Msia be the judge when I come home... I see myself everyday, I can't tell..

1 more KG till I reach my goal woots!! First time actually really trying to achieve a new year's resolution eh.. haha.

Well, I weigh myself after a workout and it's 5pm la.. so probably I'll gain that KG back after dinner?? I hope not..
But either way.. It's progress!! 90KGs... Bring It On!!

What do I do for workout?
The gym here is pretty limited compared to my previous apartment (oh did I mention I moved?)..
Today's workout;
- Glider Machine, 20minutes
- Some weight machine, mostly on the upper body and the sacred jelly
- Bicycle Machine, 5 minutes cool-down.

I miss the gym at my old apartment.. which I was getting quite use to for the past 2 weeks before I went for holiday.. It had the rowing-boat-machine and free weights.. which is MUCH easier and I think more affective than the one-machine-fit-all weights machine here. I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong... but the position to do like an incline press is very awkward.. I end up not doing as much.. -.-

Anyway.. When I do cardio.. I get bored.. which is the main reason I can't do it for long.. so what I do is, if I'm on the bicycle machine.. I play TowerDefense on my iPhone, which yesterday made me cycle for 30minutes!
or if I'm on the Glider Machine, I draw mountains using the levels I glide.. haha.. check this out..

and I have my iPhone pluged in of coz..
I glide to the beat of EWF woot!! haha.. makes it easier to glide =P

I've been really bad at journaling or blogging...
Christmas has passed.. new year has passed.. and still no post?
Well.. here's a very very delayed view of 2008.

In 2008 I,

- Flew to New Zealand
- Jump off a bridge
- Picked persimmons
- Embraced cooking
- Walked at least 200 times up / down a hill
- Made new good friends
- Watched Foo Fighters LIVE!
- Scored top results for 4 subjects at AUT
- Scored A- for Ethics (suppose to be the highest failure rate paper)
- Had Ethics as my favorite subject at Uni.
- Joined SIFE
- Taught highschool students about market economics
- Made a lecturer cry tears of joy
- Played more dota & half-life than I have in 2 years
- Had my quietest new years eve ever
- Made Nasi Lemak from scratch
- Played bass at another church besides SIB
- Traveled NZ's south island
- Celebrated my 21st birthday
- Lost 7KGs (I still look fat fyi)
- Actually know where my money goes to
- Am a proud owner of an iPhone

Well, those are what I can think of at the top of my head..
The year might not have all been what I expected to be, but I can say it was a good year.. a very different year from the rest.

2009.. the unproductive lifestyle of an official bummer/ unemployed has got the best of me... so for now, before life is less of a standstill back in Malaysia (yes, I am going back).. I shall set very very short term goals.

So here's the thing.. I have lost 7KGs last year..
honestly, I am not sure how.. haha.. it's either because sometimes I'm too lazy to cook I starve myself, or it's that >200 hills I climbed.
But.... Today's weigh in is 94KGs.

My goal is to tone up to 90KGs by 19th February.

Sounds a bit ambitious? Yea.. I think so too judging from my current lazy daily routine... But I shall work towards that and will try to make it my focus for now!! haha!!

If possible.. I shall be reporting my weigh in every 2 days or so.. just to keep accountable and motivated.. well, whoever is reading this.. if anyone is.. you be my pressure cooker ok?

Season Finale?

Long post since I've not updated for a long time.

Türkiye, 2007.

If you do not know already, I have ended my Uni life!!
Yes, two semesters have already passed and it seems like I'm still new to the place.. well, 2 semesters isn't that long anyway.

The recent semester (or last) went by seriously fast.
I was still in the winter holiday mode all through the semester!
Only about 1 or 2 weeks before exams, I realize it is the end of the semester and I've better pick up my slack.. Seriously.. like I've mentioned earlier, I've never been more unprepared for exams since secondary school!

The results? Well, I came here aiming for all A's... but Iooks like this semester I missed my aim by a bit and have to settle for 2 B+'s, 1 B- & 1 A.
I'm happy with my results.. not going to be one of those people who cries over a B+.. = P

So there goes. I am officially no longer a Uni student and now an official bum! Still enjoying the slackness of bumming around, doing nothing much but going for trips, watching series, watching movies, and uploading pictures on facebook. Although I feel a bit useless sometimes ending the day with doing absolutely nothing productive, that feeling has yet to overcome my procrastination to fine-tune and customize my CV.

Anyway... So What's next?
I keep getting asked if I am going back to Malaysia. Sometimes more than once by the same people!

The answer?
Yes. I am going back to Malaysia. Wasn't I clear the first time?
The question is when.

I've been trying to weigh if it is better to launch my career in NZ or in Malaysia. Lots of factors can be taken into account... These are a few more career skewed ones;

Money
Even tho the NZ currency has fallen, still for every dollar I save here, I save at least RM2. Since stuff here are at walking distance here, I save on transport. I've calculated, if I get an ok job here I can save aprox. NZD400-500 a month. That is aprox. at least RM800 a month. I still don't see the opportunity to save that much as a freshee in Malaysia. With that much savings, I could save up for a car when I get back home. (After a years savings, at least the down payment la)

Learning Curve
Although money is a major factor, money is not everything.
The New Zealand market is puny and very skewed to the "Kiwi" culture. A year working in New Zealand might only be equivalent to 3 months working in Malaysia in terms of experience and learning.
Yes, some people might look at it as "overseas experience" thus maybe a better chance for me getting a better position when I get back. But who am I kidding? I'll only suffer more because I know so little as compared to people who are familiar with the Malaysian market - my transition would be bigger.

Barriers of Entry
I was just talking to a friend yesterday who has a Post Grad in Marketing. He graduated last year and have been looking for a marketing job. He told that he has decided to stop the search, pack his bags and go home. A year and still nothing?
I've yet to pick my fat ass up and start searching for a job, but it seems to be tough, very tough. With the recent economy crisis, bigger corporations have hold back their recruitment and most companies are reserving jobs for their own people (PR and citizen).
As compared to Malaysia, I think I have a pretty good chance of getting into a good company. At least much better than here where I carry extra baggage like my work permit problems and such.

Well, those factors are very mechanical and corporate. There are other thoughts on my mind...

Like;
Do I see myself loving what I do in the next 10 years?
Would I look forward to step in the office every morning?
How would each decision effect my role in not just my miniscule view, but in the bigger picture like the nation (Malaysia not NZ) and the Kingdom of God.

I know I might not immediately find the right job, land in the right company that I would totally fall in love with. Or even start my own business for something that I am passionate about. Or even drop every thing and pursue something totally different like going into the entertainment industry...

That's the beauty & dilemma of being unemployed.
The course ahead has yet to be set, so the possibilities are endless.
But yet, a decision has to be made, and the seconds seem to get shorter as I grow older.

So for now, a reminder to myself;
Stay hungry, stay foolish.

The worst part?
I have SASD. Short Attention Span Disorder.
The whole of yesterday I was browsing KinaGrannis' Vids and was listening to this song the whole day.. it's stuck in my head!

So yea.. the final hours are here..
Let's hope the adrenaline kicks in tonight and gets my brain fired up to study..

It has been awhile since I've allowed myself to get really close to anyone...
by that I don't mean I'm closed up. I think I live quite an open life..
so yes.. I mean close as in keep-in-touch-sms-10-times-a-day-call-each-other-know-each-other's-whereabouts-tell-each-other-everything-opposite-sex-close.

What makes it odd is that there isn't even a specific one that I think about all the time..
or that someone who gets me doing silly acts of care.
I've been asking myself why. Probably it's just me being too lazy (very possible). Or it could be that I don't want to complicate things and end up taking back my throne as the King Of Awkward Moments (ok.. I am still the King Of Awkward Moments). Or could be that this is what it means by 'maturing'? Or the lesson from Stupid Day has finally sink in? OR, am I still stuck on Stupid Day?

Don't worry.. I'm not about to come out of of the closet and say I am a homosexual or anything..
I am still very much attracted to the opposite sex.. haha.. There are a few (females) I find appealing here... but I just don't make the effort getting to know them better.. or even to be at the places they would be..

Maybe it is because my rule is to not start anything till I finish studies (start working). So no point investing my time and effort in something I know I do not want (yet).

The other thought is... I'm finishing Uni life in 3 weeks! So should I start polishing my "social" skills before I loose it? Wouldn't it be a waste not even trying knowing the "people" here in more depth before I decide to go back to Malaysia?

I know... this blob post is so weird rite?? haha.. I think so too..
but oh well... these are just some thoughts and conversations I had recently.

It is not intentional.. it somehow just happens that way..
I barely blobed for the month when I was on holiday..
and now that Uni is picking up and work is piling up.. here I am blobbing! = )
It's just an excuse not to do my work really..

Anyway, here's something funny that happened recently..

My Samsung u700 was spoiled..
I thought it was a virus problem because the screen was fuzzy.. showing mirrored the numbers.. weird colors.. basically funny things.. and when I restart it it sometimes regain sanity.. sounds like a virus rite??

Me being a smart ass, Master Reset the phone..
and the problem was STILL THERE!
Only when I sent it for repair, I found out it was a cable problem and got it fixed for NZD50 T.T

But that's not the point... the point is.. I LOST ALL MY CONTACTs!
So I decided to do a Total Contact Update..
by sending out this mass mail;

Persimmon Picking!

I've been lazy to post pictures up here when it's so much more easier to do it in FaceBook, which links straight from my iPhoto..

Last month I went persimmon picking with my favorite girls! haha ^^
Brought back so much persimmon that eventho I gave it to people, I end up throwing most of them away for being too ripe.. It becomes all soft and squishy when it gets too ripe >.<

People damn semangat, climb ladder all to reach the persimmons..

As I mentioned, we went to pick cockles. Each person had a limit of 50 cockles. There were 5 of us, so we brought back 250 = )

Really, the anticipation was way more traumatizing compared to the jump itself.

I woke up this morning with the adrenaline started.
It's that same morning-adrenaline on PMR morning,
the same kinda rush on first day of SPM,
same anxiety the morning of L'Oreal BrandStorm National Finals.

Ok, kinda lame lar all my adrenaline moments... exams wth.
but yea, I woke up this morning knowing that I'm gonna do something out of my normal routine.

When we reached the pod, I kinda guessed that I was going to be the first that jump, cause a friend told me they go from the heaviest to the lightest. and yeap... I had to be the heaviest.

I actually asked the fella there "Can I not go frist??!"

It didn't work. I went first.

Everything happened so quickly.. one second I'm on the chair to strap myself in, the next second I'm on the ledge.

The moment I got on the ledge, it was just unreal.

The human instinct is to NOT jump off a bridge. But here am I, about to leap off one.

Keeping a blank mind, I jumped!

After that, it was just a blur. I couldn't tell where I was.
All i could see is just the motion of sky and water.

Then I felt my shoe coming off!!
It felt like the strap was tugging my shoe off!
I was screaming in my head "Don't slip off, don't slip off!!"

well, anyway... I'm back alive and not regretting a moment!

I actually had to go Search for sheep! yup.. we went sheep hunting... drove down the area to look for the flocks... mind you, the area is already a 20 minute drive away from where I live..

We found them!! but before we go get them... pose and take picture first.. hehehe.. I didn't bring along my Pentax... sial...

ok... so I'm not exactly keeping to my word: that I will blob more once I'm here in NZ. I guess no matter where you are in the world, procrastination will kick in if it has been kicking back in Malaysia.

Here's a few myths I have found to be busted after 3 weeks being here.
1. There are a lot of sheep here. Ok.. I suppose the stats are right. But I can't help to notice that I HAVE NOT SEEN SHEEP!! Well, until the end of my second week that is. And that's because I went out of the city to visit Aunty Adele & family. Besides that, contrary to saying that I'll see more sheep than people is clearly BUSTED!

2. Internet here is super (better than Malaysia at least). OMG, every Malaysian here should just stop complaining about StreamyX!! Internet here is Expensive and horrible. The line I have at the apartment is slow and unstable! I reasoned it to be the sharing of a network with the whole apartment tower, so I subscribe to another Internet Service Provider. And it turned out WOrsT! The MaXimum speed since I got here is only almost as fast as my 1Mbps in Malaysia... and that's if I'm lucky... from what I remember, 1Mbps in Malaysia now is the minimum speed... now we have up to 4Mbps and more!?! So... Malaysians! We have excellent Internet.. don't complain!

3. It's too quiet here in NZ. Before I came here, I had a mix of feedback towards this place and some said that it is too quiet. Well, this myth is relative lah.. I hold to my view that it depends on what you do at that place that determines if it's boring or not. Out of the 4 weekends I've been in NZ, I've spent 2 weekends out of town... And I can remember so far only one day where I actually stayed home the entire day.

4. Overseas lecturers are better than Malaysian lecturers. I agree that there are surely better lecturers all around the world. But all around the world we can also find bad lecturers! I can proudly and gratefully say that I had superb lecturers back at iACT... well most of them at least. Lecturing me now at AUT, there's this particular lecturer, he previously lectures at AU... supposing to be a more prestigious Uni. But I find him to be very deep in thought during classes... he wants us to get into his frame of thinking... he stops at the middle of sentences, think, and at the end of the day, it's just frustrating listening to him talk. I appreciate his effort to get us thinking and all, but seriously, not everyone is going to follow thru his syok sendiri thinking session.

5. Traffic jam doesn't happen in a country of only 4.1 million people. Last weekend I followed Tim & Renee for a weekend at Hamilton, we headed there at 6pm... and man, the jam! We were stuck in the city for about 1 hour before we could hit the freeway... then is when Tim turned around and said "ok.. it's one and a half hours from here".... He previously told me the trip to Hamilton would take one and a half hours.

Firstly, this is the dreadful hill I have to conquer everyday. It is the way out from my apartment... so yea.... no matter where I go, this is the road.

The traffic light at the top of the hill... I cross this traffic light so often, I know when to walk before the green light comes on.

Symond St. A street parallel to Queen St.

A small garden-like space I walk thru every time go to Uni or down to Queen St.

WakeField St. ... OMG. This St. is STEEP... ok, not THAT steep... but it's long and steep... and it's the way to Uni and Queen St..... so every time I go into the city, this hill/street is a killer! look, it's so steep and long, the you can't even see the end of the street in the picture!! I get a good 10-15 minute cardio every time I walk this Street.

OoOoOOo.. Check out the bus que.. We're now on Queen St. btw... the main street of the city..

Queen St.!! facing IMAX cinemas.. during AUT graduation, they actually block up this main street for the graduates to walk on... as a red carpet sorta thing..

Head all the way down Queen St. and you'll hit the harbor.. I gotta say, the harbor is my favorite part of the city... Checkout the houses there.. all glass-ee and nice... = )

It's a common thing to see people jogging everywhere in the city at this hour... this "self city tour" was at about 6.30pm

So! I'm finally here! If you didn't know, it has been exactly one week since I've been here in Auckland, New Zealand!

It's going well. Except the fact that the journey started off with a horrible 10 hours flight with BAD air conditioning, the rest has been smooth so far.
Here is a random list of what I have been up to the past 7 days.

So, It's the last day of year 2007. Sometimes the year seem like it went by so fast, but from a certain perspective, the year seems really really long. So here goes, deJelly's '07 highlights ;)

- Sem 4
Started the year with exams! that semester seem so long ago. Didn't felt like i did 3 semesters in a year.

- Resonate
The coming together of generations is crucial in the coming times. Besides that, had a blast with the band every Resonate.

- Sam left to Sydney
A significant milestone for the family.

- Internship at NagaDDB
Had a great time there. Got a slight taste of working life. Met great people. I believe it's possible for the next generation to turn the industry around!

- Earth Wind & Fire in Malaysia
Dream come true!! The organizers picked a horrific place to have the concert, but EWF still grooved the night away! Right-On!

- Portrait
Was involved in the conceptualization stage, but didn't manage to attend the show.

- Quit Creactive
A lesson to learn. It's most of the time ok to let go of something precious. What goes around comes around... better things are installed as you let go.

- L'Oreal BrandStorm
A Pivotal point of my year.

- Euro Trip
It's such a privilege to have the chance to travel, to experience different cultures and takes on life.

- Sydney Trip
Visit bro, and adding on the the travel frenzy! hehe

- Semester 6
I think I said it before, since iACT, I don't think I have dread going to classes. Same goes for this semester, except for some redundant practices. But at the same time, surprisingly I really enjoyed the 2 studying subjects [Corporate Planning & International Marketing]. Oh! btw, the results are out... I got 3As, 1B+!! Praise God!

Another significant milestone in the family. In many ways, these milestones are essential progression.

The traveling continues! Great historical trip. Spent a bit more than what I expected tho..

But I know those who govern us are trembling when I saw,

Police blocking a four lane road making it a one lane road,
causing a jam that stretched from Eastin Hotel to SS2...
starting from 8am-7pm,

Blocking out roads in KL that made people divert 20 minutes out of the way to get back to PJ,

The roads of KL being swamped by hundreds of policemen,

Unarmed civilians being sprayed at and being attacked by tear gas.

The dramatic reaction to a peaceful protest clearly demonstrates the esteem the government has for itself.
Quite low apparently.

I do not keep track of all the political happenings in Malaysia.

But honestly, the man behind those police today seem like a terrified child that would do anything to cover up his mistakes... even if it was at the expense of hitting his sister.

I am a Pentaxian at last!
This was the first picture taken with my now beloved Pentax K10D.
I dropped the 16-45mm, 50mm line-up,
got a Sigma 17-70 f/2.8-4.5 instead.
Although not an original Pentax lens,
there's heaps of good reviews on this lens...
and i guess it works great for a start up lens.
it covers more than i would have with the previous plan.

It's a crazy leap some might say.
But the few reasons are these:
1. I am going to NZ next year. It'll be a waste if I don't capture the beautiful life there.

2. It's about time. I love the G6, it's still a great camera. Learn loads from it, experience lots with it, but it's time for a better system.

3. I need inspiration. I believe products carry value that feeds inspiration. From the brand, the aesthetics , the functions, to the results from the product, it all sparks inspiration.

Well, basically the 16-45 lens allows me to cover wide landscapes and the 50mm lens is great for portrature and nice bokeh [in simple terms, nice blurry backgrounds and sharp subject].

What type of photography I'm into?
Landscape & Street.
And in that category, I've been more and more intrigued by B&Ws and DuoTone pictures.

The crazy part is, that it will cost me more than half of all my savings. This is my biggest purchase investment so far. I'm quite nervous spending so much honestly.

Last week was officially the most exciting week for this semester.
I had 3 major assignments, 2 of them carrying 20% of each subject.
They were due on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday...
and on Sunday... nothing solid was done!

In the end, I was satisfied with how all 3 presentations turned out...
more importantly, the rush was extremely gratifying.
So here I present...

deJelly's Guide To Adrenaline Addicticity
WARNING: THIS GUIDE IS STRICTLY
FOR PEOPLE ABOVE 18 AND BELOW 50 YEARS OF AGE
NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED

1. Keep the brief, brief.
Ask only necessary questions. Find out all you need to know on what is needed to be delivered and HIDE THAT BRIEF! Knowing too much at this point of time leaves you too prepared to be rushed with Adrenaline later.

2. Forget about it.
Go to the nearest Pan Mee stall and enjoy lunch with your friends, go online and facebook all you want! It's too early to worry about that assignment. Just know roughly what your gotta do and don't worry about it.

3. Let your mind wonder.
Inter-relate that assignment with random topics. It may be pointless fun, but at some occasions, those relation turn into brilliant ideas. Got a brilliant idea?? Do NOT do your assignment just yet!! Jot those idea down... but don't you dare touch your laptop!

4. Gather support.
As you facebook and youtube, visit news sites, to go corbis.com for possible support materials you could use in the assignment. Save those materials into a folder, just drag them all in.. don't worry how are you going to use it yet. Again... leave the assignment alone.

5. Last supper.
Right before we actually get into Adrenaline Mode, have your last relaxing day.

6. Adrenaline kicks in.
At this point. Keep your deadline in mind. With so little prepared, just by the thought of the deadline should get those blood pumping!

7. Stick to the brief.
Remember the brief we hid? Well, it's time to take it out. There's no time to complicate things... you got your brief, your jotted down brilliant idea and some support materials... it's finally time to get DOING!

8. Let it run!
I love this part best. As you do and do and do with Adrenaline pumping, somehow new relevant ways of laying those ideas and materials down will start rushing in. The words to say, the innovative slide layouts, relevant props to use. At this point of time your focus should be how to make this assignment THE BEST ASSIGNMENT EVER!

9. Identify your Power Snack.
The last-minute work and adrenaline won't allow you to have your regular 4 hour sleep. So as you walk to the board room to present your idea, grab your power snack to keep those blood warm. [Mine is a KitKat(Chunky) + Coffee/RedBull]

10. Speak from your heart.
The difference between a normal presentation and an Adrenaline birthed presentation is that you speak from the heart. You speak with the spontaneous emotion from the long wait for that jotted down idea to be released. [Not that you are not prepared... DO BE PREPARED! you spent the one sleepless night preparing!]

11. Reward Yourself.

How Ed Scrubed Your Mother

As a writer, you know you have done a great job when the characters you created relates to your audience. Somewhere somehow something just fits.

That's why audience like me keep coming back for more. I stay up till 3.30am eventho I have to wake up at 8am the next morning just because I can relate and share the same emotion with a character on TV.

Something triggers when J.D in "scrubs" struggles to find the right words to say. He ends up saying all the wrong things. After the crazy imaginations takeover, life goes back to the same without a thing changed.

Or when Ted in "How I met your mother" have an ideal perspective of relationships. He lets go opportunities that are right in front of him.

Or when Ed in "Ed" expresses how he feels in many ways, except saying it straight forward. How he found it hard to admit the feelings that were there.

Something jumps even higher when these characters do something out of their norm. Something they normally would not have done. I get anxious for them. Cause when that happens, the outcome is now unpredictable - exciting.

If you watch these characters, you will realize one similarity. Besides the fact that they are all Americans with dark brown hair, all three of them have someone at the back of their minds. Someone more comfortable, more easy-to-be-with might have come along, but yet that one still strangely resides.

Internship at NagaDDB

My internship is probably something I've left out blobbing about.
The 3 months at NagaDDB was an important period.
The few reasons why it was important:

Career Option.
After struggling with studies, CREACTIVE, Church and BrandStorm simultaneously, I was quite decided I must never go to servicing. But after dropping responsibilities and started to focus on a few things, results shows otherwise. I have always been interested in branding. Brain storming and seeing ideas develop has always got my adrenaline running. Brand Management does provide that possibilities.
So, Brand Management in an Agency is back on the possible list career wise.

Right Timing.
Tho it was quite a struggle doing BrandStorm and internship at the same time... our team sometimes start meetings at about 12 midnight,
I feel there was no better timing than to do it together.
If I had won BrandStorm during college days, there is no extra benefit.
Now that I'm visible in the company as an intern that won an award, I leave with a greater impact and a stronger impression.

People Matter.
Being in the agency I was exposed to top people in the advertising industry.
More than establishing right connections and network so that it'll be easier for me to get a job when i graduate, friendships were found as well.
And that's one of the more valuable thing I got out of internship.

So I arrived back at KLIA...
but it was not quite the end of my flying frenzy!!
I did not get to sleep on my bed cause my relatives came down from US and Aus... so yea, even where I slept wasn't back to normal eventho I was back in Malaysia.

By the time I know it, I was up in the air again 3 days later!
I was going to visit a part of home that was missing since Feb.

Sydney was great. Food was better, weather was cooler and there was more space to breath compared to the over-populated europe.

An agenda for the Syd trip was hillsong's conference.
If you know me, I'm not a big fan of hillsong's as some are.
Putting aside the monogenreric music, playing every note EXACTLY the same EVERTIME the song is played [we sang an average of 9 times per song in the period of 5 days], and the grossly-adored skinny jeans men wear, I could highlight some positive strengths found in hillsong's.

Fantastic MultiMedia. Moving away from the conventional single screen projection, they put together 3 screens making the resolution nice and wide. Experts in creative atmospheres, lighting and deco was elegantly effective. As the band is too lazy to cook up a slightly different arrangement of songs or to improvise, what was seen on screen rarely the same.

Start on time, End on time. Something Malaysians conveniently struggle with. I for one, have not mastered this skill and salutes the Aussies.

Excellent delegation and empowerment. You can visibly see that hillsong's is not run by 1 person. It's quite impossible anyways leading a number that huge by yourself. That's why quality leaders was prominent. From the community outreach pastors to the youth pastors were top class speakers, intelligent minds, passionate souls.

I could not ask for a better line up of invited-guest.
I guess this conference concluded my whole 5 country travel trip.
This is a pale attempt to do what Louie did on the second nite.

He asked us if we knew how big our God is.
If we look at the stars... the distance from the earth to what we see as stars are lightyears away! Lightyears is how far light can travel in a year!! Imagine flying on the fastest plane man has created and we traveled for a year... we could go for thousands of kilometers. But that is still no where close to how far we can reach with the speed of light.

.. and that's just ONE lightyear.

He began taking us on a journey out of earth further and further into space with pictures of various planets taken from NASA.

After much traveling and being amazed by the beauty of the different planets and space phenomenon, Louie thought it was a good idea to look back and see how does Earth look from so far.

Then he revealed an image with some blurry strips we couldn't tell what that was. Where is Earth? He pointed out that one small speck. we might not have guessed if he did not point it out. And that's Earth.

That made everyone feel REALLY REALLY small. We haven't got a clue how big this galaxy is... let alone this universe.

And there I was, thinking I've seen the world. Thinking that traveling to 5 countries in less than 3 weeks was all that great.

If you think the universe is big, said Louie, can you imagine how big is the one that created the universe? Now that... is roughly how big our God is. And how big is He you are imagining right now... He's bigger.

In the end, it's back to the beginning.
I'm still a creation, created by the Creator.
Let me not forget that.
No matter how far I travel.

Fact of the case

On May 30, 2002, an international schoolteacher came home to find her 11-year-old daughter sprawled in a pool of blood on the bathroom floor of their house in Setapak.

She immediately rushed her daughter to a specialist centre, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The woman’s 13-year-old tuition student was said to be the last person to have been with the girl. The boy had arrived about an hour early for tuition, before the woman had returned home from a weekly school meeting. The teacher told her daughter to let the boy into the house first.

While waiting in the house, the boy was taunted by the victim, who repeatedly called him “fatty.” A spat soon ensued between the two children. Continuing their quarrel in the kitchen, the boy suddenly snapped and attacked her with a sharp weapon.

Post-mortem reports revealed that she had died due to massive blood loss from four slash wounds and 20 stab wounds.

After committing the murder, the boy had left the scene with his uncle, whom he had asked to pick him up on the excuse that his tuition class had been cancelled.

On finding her daughter’s body, the woman had called up the boy who repeatedly said: “Teacher, sorry, sorry. Teacher, sorry ... I don’t know why I did it.’’

The boy was picked up by the police from his father’s shop about an hour later.

It came to the last day.
After all the traveling,
the on-going sight-seeing,
the packing-up and checking-in,
I was actually quite happy to be heading home.

If there's one thing this trip showed me was that the world stage isn't out of reach. Every country and individual has the potential to shine. Sometimes as Asians or Malaysians we tend to have that subliminal inferiority, which makes us somewhat scared to aim high. To able to see the world's cream was such an honor.

It's amazing when I look back at this 8 months journey.
As I pointed out the Star reporter, the 3 prominent challenges:
1. To be bold enough to hand in the first submission (without presentation)

2. To continue to pursue excellence throughout. 8 months is a very long time and somewhere along the way it gets very tiring and "lazyness" kicks in. More so when it clashes with other commitments. I made the decision to let go of responsibility. It got so tiring to the point I didn't have energy to keep in touch with people.

3. To recognize that at the end that we have done our best, and from that how to further improve.

It's over.
After devoting 8 months of my life
to see Paris come to past,
it's over.
it's important to for me to get back to reality.

Well, at this point of the story.. I've not reach home yet.

Ok... BrandStorm aside.
It's time for the great euro adventure!!
[i'll keep it short... try to]

There we go! Audrey, Qi and myself boarded Ryan Air to our first destination,

Milan.

The weather there was slightly warmer compared to Paris.
The first thing we notice when we stepped down from the bus was...
man, Milan chicks beats Paris hands down!
Seriously, they are everywhere!

Maybe cause it's the fashion capital of the world,
people tend to take care of their outlook.
Or was it because people there are so beautiful,
they are the fashion capital of the world?

Anyways, after lunch Audrey went with her friends leaving me and Qi to check-in our hostel. The hostel was not too bad. Just that it didn't have an air cond in the hot weather. Qi and I took it slow. After all the rush in Paris, we took time to recover by first sleeping-in the first 3 hours we got there.

The night was spent at the Duomo area. Going round trying to see what Milan has to offer us. Visited a brand that the devil wears, and we went live music hunting. Where ever we heard live music, we head towards that direction. She's cute when she sing and dance.

The next morning we took a train ride to Lake Como. Spectacular View.
That place is perfect if u just want to clear your mind and do nothing.
Celebrities like George Coolney has a house there (Aud pointed out).

On the second night we returned to Duomo for a open-air concert.
it was a blend of music from different cultures in europe.
Really loved the music. People were dancing... and we drank beer bought from McDonald's.

London!

Having accommodation miss-arrangements, Qi was trying to call his friend while I wait by the roadside with 4 big bags for at least 30 minutes. I think if i stayed put there any longer people might just give me some change as they walk pass, mistaking me for a asian-bagger.

So finally we checked in. We ended up in Malaysian Hall.
They literally brought Malaysia to London!
The moment I stepped in that place,
I began do doubt if we are still in London.
There was Badawi's face on the wall and even the radio was playing Malaysian radio from the internet.

Qi's friend wanted us so much to stay over at his place to show us a good time in London, but it was a weekday so we only met him on our last day.

He wanted to show us London's night scene.
We started with a cocktail and a shot in his apartment,
moved on to at least 4 clubs with one vodka Lemonade each club,
plus a few more shots of I don't know what along the way.

Honestly, this is kinda my 1st time being to an actual club scene.
The times I went before this was either an event or something... never on a just a normal night.

So this is how it goes rite?
Everyone arrives at the club,
down some shots and move to the dance floor.
There you can wobble or do the split,
basically anything if you want to catch anyone's attention.

So it kinda boils down to meeting new attractive friends while dancing. At least for the guys I'm guessing. But what if all the girls at the club memang "cannot"?? That's what happen to me lar... I know the dim lighting and the heavy shots of alcohol suppose to partially blind the eyes so that we don't see the full detail of the not-so-good-looking-ones, but it didn't work for me. No one was hot enough to make me gather guts to go wobble with her.

The highlight of the night was having a hot-dog by the street while we were quite tipsy. In the chilly London breeze and alcohol soaked blood streams the hot hot-dog tasted so doggy good! After that I was satisfied and we got back to the apartment and slept about 3am.

The next thing I know is me waking up to a PANIC!
It was 7.40am!!!!
Why panic???
Coz we were suppose to be checked-in the flight back to Paris.
The plane leaves at 9.40am and check-in closes at 9am.

Still feeling the effects from last night's failure, we rushed back to the Malaysian Hall to get our luggage, and with our luggage rushed to the airport!! Normally if I drink fairly a lot, there's a morning to sleep-it-in. This time I could feel the sucky-ness of the alcohol after effects.

Finally we made it to the airport.
it was 9.55am.

yeap.... we missed the flight.
This trip was filled with first times,
and one of them is the first time missing a flight.

35 pounds each had to be blown to get our names back into the easyJet system again so we could catch the next possible flight.

The cut it short, I was sitting there for the next 4 hours for the a flight we cannot guarantee seats. If we can't get on the this plane, we were prepared to spend a night at the airport. There's another first right there.

For that 4 hours I was regretting over and over. Such a waste of time, such a waste of money. I should have spent that 11 pounds to go up London Eye, instead of paying 35 pounds extra for missing a flight! And all that for one fruitless night in London's clubs.

Man... for a first timer to the clubs, this isn't a very good first impression. I think I'm already subconsciously condition by this to dislike clubbing even more now.

Oh well, I guess it made the adventure more exciting.

In the end, THANK GOD we manage to hop on the next plane back to Paris.
We didn't spend the night at the airport.

Met up with Audrey again. So totally thrilled to see her after 5 days!!

and...

I need to go sleep now.
classes are picking up.
I gotta say, Visual Comm. class is quite fun.
I feel so arty doing 3 sketches every class.
At least it balance out the 2 hardcore studying subjects I'm taking this semester.

It has been one heck of a ride since I boarded that plane on 11th June.
here's a summarized description of an indescribable experience.

Paris.
Mesmerizing city. The most beautiful city I've set foot on.
The carvings on each building are simply captivating.
I'm amazed at how well culture and precious architecture are kept,
not only in a contained place, but they actually live with it.

My purpose there was the L'OREAL BrandStorm International finals.
It was a privilege to see the best Marketing teams form 34 countries;

Brazil Australia Canada Chile Denmark Turkey South Africa Poland Portugal Russia Mexico South Korea Japan Italy Hungary Greece France Czech Republic Argentine Belgium China Hong Kong India Israel Malaysia Spain Switzerland Taiwan USA Thailand UK Germany Netherlands Singapore

This was how it went.
The competition begin in 4 Zones in the morning.
My Zone having 8 countries;
Chile Italy Czech Republic Belgium China Malaysia Germany Canada

Being very honest, from watching the presentations, I got a feeling it was down to Canada or us. The Canada team came up to us and said the same thing. Then again, at that point anything could happen. Marketing is subjective.

That same evening, we went to Musse de L'Homme for the finals.
With a band to kick start the night, I could feel the suspense rising.

Without much delay, the emcee went o announcing the winners of each Zone.
First, Mexico... France... and from a very far away and small country... Malaysia!

I stepped in stage saying to myself "wow.. it's now or never..."
We were finally there. After months of picturing this scene, finally lights were flashed, cameras were rolling, and now it's finally time for action.

After finishing our 10 minutes-compressed presentation from a 20 minute one, I just sat down with a blank mind. Everything that has to be done is now done. All that's left is the result.

The result
Team [icon] is 3rd in the world.

We were disappointed. At least Qi and I were. What made it worst is we had people say to us we deserved better. People being other participants and zonal judges.
Many seem to have not understood team France's presentation and product.
More so how they got second. These words puts me in a awkward disposition. Even at the feedback session, we were thrilled that we had good comments, but the question "Why did we get third?" was not answered.

If the reason is that the judges just could not let 2 Asian teams hold the top 2 prizes, then I'm not disappointed that we lost, but I'm disappointed that a respected international brand would allow such personal insecurity to corrupt a competition's integrity.

Well, yea.. we were disappointed, and in some ways I still feel the pinch.
But after putting the situation in perspective, it isn't that bad.

We were the only diploma students present (from the conversations with others). Technically we aren't even diploma graduates!! Most of the teams are completing or completed their degree and are already looking for jobs. Some are even doing their Masters! People were shocked to find out I am only 19 years old.

Talking about putting the project in to real-life situations.
In the real market, external factors like economical, political, social and technological factors would affect the results of the plan.
We may be affected by the political factor this time round.
If that's the case... I accept that as a real-life lesson.
It thought me that one or more factors may not or will not be on my side,
and that's worth more than a title that will fade by the year.

So yup,
that's Paris in relatively long post.
Of coz we went to the usual touristy spots which I shall let the pictures tell the story.

This is just 5 days into that 31 days...

We took of to Milan after that... and soon to London.

Might continue on,
but for now I shall get my life back in Malaysia straight first.
I just arrived at KLIA this today and I'm already back to the full-day schedule.
I'm having withdrawal syndrome since this morning... it's bad.

Anyhow...

I woke up to the deafening sound of my heart beat.
It was 3rd May all over again.
Just that this time I wasn't in my room,
I'm in the land where ships cruise the river at city centre,

Today is the climax.
The climax of this long 10 months journey,

I was always good at expressing my feelings when I'm terribly happy.
I'll scream, jump around, smile uncontrollably, make strange sounds with my voice, and all sorta other weird things.

In contrast, I've never been good with good-byes.
So much so that at many occasions I subconsciously don't say good-bye.
I become very much quiet, I can't construct my words well when I talk, or I'll just change the topic all together and part with an awkward insignificant wave.

Well, I guess it's me subconsciously disliking the thought of parting.
I'll end most my parts with "I'll see you soon", "See ya, take care",
rarely "Bye". I don't know why... maybe it sounds, just too final.

Today, I said my "See ya, take care" to a group of people I spent the last 2 months 15 days with.

I ended my internship with NagaDDB today.

I must say, I enjoyed almost every bit of the internship period. You know when you get this feeling that you're at the right place, at the right time, with the right people? It felt kinda like that.

Before I went there, I heard tales of Creative Directors burning briefs and shredding them in front clients.
Wow! I thought... so drama.
Perfect, I like it.

As time past, I found more than just crazy + talented people that does great Ads,
I found people that I now find hard to say good-bye to.
More than just letting me get a feel of how the Ad Agency works,
they actually let me into their life in the Ad Agency.

These 2 months is definitely precious. I'm gonna feel the withdrawal symptom starting tomorrow when I wake and find myself not driving to Kelana Square. Oh wait! The withdrawal actually already started when I stepped out the main door.

Like I said, I was never good at good-byes.

After looking back on how I "behaved" yesterday at BrandStorm Finals...
I think people might be asking "What's going on in that guys head?"
I was so nervous...
and when I get nervous, I fidget around like mad...
I tap my hands, tap my legs, I burst into laughter all of a sudden, and at a sudden I will doze off (to escape the nervousness)... really I did!! ask my team.
I even jumped around, did a dance, wobbled about.

What was going trough my mind.
Before the presentation.

2. Who's our strongest competitor..
3. SHIT! Lim Kok Wing did a survey that has bloody 500+ pax and 150+ salons over Penang, Ipoh and KL.
4. Eh.. that girl sitting there not bad eh??

6. ishh.. forgot to buy 100PLUS, later thirsty how??
7. Wa.. damn sleepy... (zzzzZZzzzZZ)
8. We only got the presentation into 20mins last night at 1am... we're mad.

So I went to the doctor.

It was a relief when he told me the symptoms described has nothing to do with the heart.

Instead it's something about the ribs... how it's either in the wrong position due to wrong posture, it being slept on, or my body is too tense.

Either way, I'm just glad to hear it's not a heart problem.

For the past 3-4 days, I've been experiencing pain slightly below my left collar bone. For a short 1-3 minutes if I move or breathe the pain gets sharp. And this is happens about 5 sometimes more a day.

Not sure what's the cause. Possible reasons:
1. I'm bloody fat.
2. Stress.
3. Lack of sleep.
4. Heart broken.

an eye on planet earth

If you have not watched An Inconvenient Truth,
Go and watch it!

The fact is, our planet is in some kind of crisis,
believe it or not.

You can feel it in the weather.
The heat these days is somehow more piercing,
rain falls and stops equal amount of times I pee in a day,
for the first time in 8 years or so, it rained on Chinese New Year.

The top hottest years in our planet's history is within the past 14 years.
The cause?
Well, from the charts Al Gore presented,
the temperature increased as the human civilization hit baby-booming.

Our so called "technological advancement" does the planet much harm.
What happen to "Captain Planet... he's the hero... gonna take pollution down to zero!"
Didn't that instill in us a love for the planet? shish...

I was watching a movie the other day (can't remember what)
Judie Foster was going to meet some aliens...
so the board of council asked her;
"If you had one question to ask the intellect-advanced creatures,
what would it be?"

Her answer,
"How do we human progress without destroying ourselves"

We've come this far,
let's not be oblivious of our climate crisis.

Talk about it,
blog about it,
take steps helpful for this purpose,
it's the least we can do.
